This 1963 Rolex Submariner is a great piece to start with. The 5513 model Sub was manufactured for nearly 27 years, so it’s hardly a rare timepiece, however its many, many variants alone make it a highly sought after model nonetheless.
The VR3230 is a good option for a clone movement in a no-date 41mm submariner, however a VSF no-date 41mm submariner with the VS3235 modded to be a VS3230 is a better option. In spring 2024 we started seeing a new version of the VR3235 and VR3230.
The ARF is dirtier (!), has the crown sticking out further past the crown guard, and has the "short f" and "symmetrical = sign". Also, the ARF has larger magnification of the cyclops window compared to the VRF (same is true vs. my VRF MAX). 1. Who currently makes the best sub rep? It seems to be ARF ( like this one from puretime) from what I can gather but I wanted to see if any more experienced people could offer some additional insight. 2. Is there any news on when ARF, NOOB, ZZF, etc will be coming out with a new version of the sub? Any specific threads to follow to monitor this? Rolex do have a 44mm diver, the Deepsea Sea-Dweller both NOOB and ARF make these, they are very nice in my opinion, especially the D-Blue one. Reply reignking1115 •
ARF has two versions, 3135 rolex clone and 2824 ETA movement clone. The ETA movement clone is cheaper to repair and replace since a genuine ETA movement can be had for around 200€.

I have just ordered a ARF Factory Rolex Ref.116613 Submariner in 904L Steel V2 Edition from trustytime.cc, the movement inside is Nickel Plated Asia 2824-2.
