"SWISS MADE" at the bottom of the Rolex dial sometimes has different spacing. I have a 2007 platinum Yacht-Master and have noticed the spacing is different (a little farther apart) than others where the words are .
T Swiss Made T = Luminous dial & hands (tritium). Swiss Made T = Non-luminous dial & luminous hands (tritium). OM SWISS MADE OM = non-luminous gold dial & hands. just for clarity ( or is that just to add to the confusion) there are many 60s Constellations with SWISS MADE T that have tritium lume on both the dial and hands. From research my understanding is that the T markings are for the tritium rating and there is "T Swiss Made T" and then there is "Swiss Made T<25" but haven't seen any mention about a "Swiss Made T" marking. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Looking for a battery omega watch. Like a 1980s era sea ayer one on crono 24. Caliber561. No luminous on the dial. Hands may or may not be lumed replacements. Or a luminova watch 😉 that doesn’t look like it’s from 86. but at that point the law was gone anyways so it wasn’t needed. Omega kept it untill 1999 on the Speedmaster pro when it changed. But many reduced are tritium and not marked as such. According to MWO, the switch occurred in 1997, roughly at the same time at which the Speedy reference changed from 3590.50 to 3570.50. MWO also states that the 3570.50s from that time could come with: -tritium dial with “T Swiss Made T” or luminova dial with “Swiss Made”, with the former in the serial range from 48.339.xxx to 48.385.xxx.
May 15, 2023. Hi! I'm looking to buy a vintage Seamaster watch. During my research, I've read that for 1960's watches using tritium it was mandatory to have a "T" printed on the dial. As I understand, there was "Swiss Made T" indicating that only the hands were luminous and "T Swiss Made T" to indicate that both the hands of the watch . Hi, Has anyone ever seen a 2914 Railmaster with a "T swiss made T" dial, like this one ? The dials seems OK to me, but it's the first time I see this feature.. Some time ago, someone on the forum has wondered about this dial, with what looks like an added "T" on the right side only.
Canuck. Original dials can have swiss made, swiss or neither. They can also be marked with one t or two t's along with swiss made to denote tritium in the dial. Earlier dials (early 40s and earlier are more likely to have neither in the dial. US market watches generally only said swiss and not swiss made. Keep in mind that Swiss only dials were made from approximately 1998-2000 but are not what I would consider rare as Rolex production numbers were very high Posts 889
Yes as Hoi said , sometimes redialers put the "T" on a dial that never had it to begin with, as they are ignorant and think that will make the dial look original. Otherwise there should be no T on a non Tritium dial. So basically your expert is wrong. 2. Posts. T Swiss Made T = Luminous dial & hands (tritium).
