Rolex Rep VS Steinhart
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has ever had both a good Rep Rolex, and a Steinhart for comparison. Steinhart obviously takes some (all) of its styling cues. Servus miteinander, heute lief mir mein Kollege mit strahlendem Gesicht über den Weg und zeigte mir ganz stolz seine neu erworbene Replica einer Rolex.

Today I will share with you my thoughts on the specific quality of all currently available 36mm Datejust and Daydate Replicas, compare them to the (vintage) Bulova Seville Homage (available as Datejust or Daydate) and conclude why I would choose one over another. But Steinhart do good solid dive watches that look good, and you can tell they are not just a cheaper replica when you look at them. Not as good as a Rolex obviously, but then a Rolex Sub costs about 10x the price, so it should look better.

This is more of a general discussion topic or a non-Rolex topic but since you asked, Steinhart is just like many other low to mid range homage watch assemblers. They brush up against the copy line, they just don't cross over it into the counterfeit territory. I own a Rolex and just got a Steinhart dive watch that I'm very happy with. 85% of the quality of a Rolex at 4% of the price. Waterproof to 100M, Swiss-made, ETA movement at 8 steps a second just like my Rolex. The biggest difference being the rep glidelock clasp being miles better than the steinhart clasp with no micro adjust. The lume is also much better on the reps. The overall finishing better on the reps. You do get a warranty with steinhart though, which is nice, but both my reps and steinhart are all still ticking with no issues or service.
