A lock ( lock ) or vintage rolex explorer 1016|rolex explorer 1016 youtube I purchased this watch at the Cartier 5th Avenue NYC store in the mid- 1970s. I know it is gold vermeil and is stamped on the back "PLAQUE ORO 20 M" or "PLAQUE OR 020 M". Does anyone know what it means? Also, it does not say "MUST" on the face like most of the other 70s era tanks I've seen. Is that of any significance? Thanks for your insight.

While designated the ‘Type 1,’ all three types of 1016 chapter ring SCOC dials appear to start at the 516xxx serial range, which is the same as that of the OCC dials. Unlike the other two chapter ring SCOC dials, however, this dial is almost exclusively seen in the 516-596xxx range.
